Originally from Keizer, OR, Travis Freshner earned his bachelors degree from the University of Oregon and his Masters Degree from Western Michigan University, where he served as Graduate Teaching Assistant in Trumpet Performance, Music Education, and Music History. He has performed all the across the country in venues ranging in atmospheres such as seedy nightclubs at 3am to the finest concert halls with groups ranging from rock bands to jazz ensembles to symphony orchestras to contemporary chamber groups. He is also an active composer, arranger, and orchestrator and his music has been performed by The New York Philharmonic, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as well as middle schools and high schools across the country.
Before coming to St. Helens, Mr. Freshner had taught in Prineville, OR, Fairview, OR, Vancouver, WA, and Salem, OR, where he consistently produced ensembles of the highest quality regardless of age, grade, economic circumstance, or skill level.
